Mahendra Nath Gupta (M.)

Mahendra Nath Gupta (M) brought Sri Ramakrishna and his teachings to the West through his book The Gospel of Sri Ramakrishna. Mahendra Nath Gupta was so humble that he did not even include his full name in the Gospel, only referring to himself as "M." While The Gospel is universally recognized,M. and his life story has remained obscure. Swami Chetanananda explored every available historical source for information on M and included reminiscences by historical figures such as poet Dilip Kumar Roy and the world-renowned yogi Paramahamsa Yogananda.
