Mahendranath Gupta – to whom we owe the most reliable accounts of day-to-day life with Sri Ramakrishna – is of paramount importance.  He was not a monk but a married man with children and all the obligations of family.  He was so humble that he did not even include his full name in the Sri Sri Ramakrishna Kathamrita (Gospel of Sri Ramakrishna) and only referred to himself as “M.”   While the Gospel is universally recognized, M and his life story has remained obscure.  Swami Chetanananda explored every available historical source for information on M and included reminiscences of historical source for information on M. – includes reminiscences by historical figures such as poet Dilip Kumar Roy and the world-renowned yogi Paramahansa Yogananda.  Swami Chetanananda is a monk of the Ramakrishna Order and the minister of the Vedanta Society of St. Louis, Missouri.  Paperback
